Place School District Announces Before and After School Enrichment Programs through SCOPE Education Services

Miller Place, N.Y. (February 2020)—The Miller Place School District (MPSD) announced it will be hosting before and after school enrichment programs at Andrew Muller Primary School and Laddie A. Decker Sound Beach School for the 2020-2021 school year. Presented by SCOPE Education Services, the before and after school programs provide a safe, fun, welcoming environment for the children of working parents beginning at 7:00 a.m. before school and until 6 p.m. after dismissal.

“We are thrilled to partner with SCOPE Education Services to provide our families in the District with the opportunity to nurture their child’s potential before and/or after school,” said Dr. Marianne Cartisano, superintendent of Miller Place School District. “We encourage all interested parents and guardians to register at their earliest convenience to reserve a spot and take full advantage of SCOPE’s enrichment services as soon as possible.”

At Andrew Muller Primary School, there is a morning program for 2.25 hours and an evening program for two hours. Following a consistent schedule— the child attends every day school is in session—the morning rate is $264/month, the evening rate is $244/month, and the morning/evening multi-rate is $492.76/month. Following a selective day schedule— the child attends a minimum of 5 days monthly—the morning rate is $77/month and the evening rate is $72/month.

At Laddie A. Decker Sound Beach School, there is a morning program for one hour and an evening program for three hours. Following a consistent schedule—the child attends every day school is in session—the morning rate is $156/month, the evening rate is $325/month, and the morning/evening multi-rate is $466.57/month. Following a selective day schedule—the child attends a minimum of five days monthly—the morning rate is $46/month, and the evening rate is $93/month.

With a 1:10 staff to student ratio, the programs offer character development, STEAM and literacy activities, special events and presenters, arts and crafts, age-appropriate educational and recreational activities, fitness activities and healthy snacks, and dedicated homework time.

Registration begins March 15, 2020, for incoming kindergarten and returning SCOPE students only. Open registration begins May 15, 2020 for all new SCOPE students. There is an annual one-time registration fee of $40 per child or $60 per family, as well as a 20% sibling discount. A new contract must be submitted each school year and placement is confirmed in the order in which contracts are received. New SCOPE parents must create an online account before registering a contract.
