Andrew Muller Primary School Opens Registration for the 2020-21 School Year

Miller Place, N.Y. (February 2020)—TheAndrew Muller Primary School (AMPS) in Miller Place has begun the process of registering students for the 2020-2021 Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs.

“We are excited to welcome a new group of our youngest students to the District through our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs,” said Dr. Marianne Cartisano, superintendent of Miller Place School District. “Parents are encouraged to register their children at their earliest possible convenience to ensure a smooth transition to school. Any questions should be directed to the main office at Andrew Muller Primary School.”

Presented by SCOPE Education Services, the self-supporting Pre-K Program will follow NYS Pre-Kindergarten learning standards with NYS certified teachers and STEAM initiatives. The program will be held at AMPS, Monday through Friday and features a morning session, beginning at 8:45 a.m. and running to 11:15 a.m., as well as an afternoon session beginning at 12:30 p.m. and running to 3:00 p.m. There is a $278 monthly fee, with a 10% sibling discount for a second child. There is also a non-refundable $40 registration fee, with $20 for each additional child of the same family. In order to be eligible, students must turn four by Dec.1, 2020. Kindergarten registration will be held beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, March 20, 2020. Registration is by appointment only. Parents are asked to call the AMPS main office at 631-474-2715 to schedule an appointment between the hours of 9:45 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

At the time of the registration appointment, parents must have the following documentation filled out and accessible for each child that is entering kindergarten: 1) a completed registration packet; 2) an original birth certificate or other official documents proving the child’s age; 3) current immunization records; and 4) documentation to prove residency in the Miller Place School District which includes, but is not limited to, a copy of a deed or lease, and/or a notarized copy of a landlord affidavit. To avoid any delay in the registration process, please review the registration packet and instructions carefully which can be found on the District’s website under the Department tab/Registration/New Student Checklist and Forms. If any documentation is missing, parents will be asked to make a new appointment date to bring in a completed packet. An incomplete registration packet will not be accepted.
